I guess it was 6 or 7 years ago I bought, I think, Birdman. Immediately read and ran to pick up the Treatment. And I was hooked.
When I read an author like Mo (or James Lee Biurke) I surrender to the talent - on my best days writing I cannot come up with a sentence that matches the quality of every sentence in their works.
Her books are troubling.. Her characters walk a tightrope on the edge of humanity...Her plots are as rich as any ever written.
What's truly impressive (among many things) is that she was/is an ordinary person without a course of study to write for a living. She just started doing it. As well as anyone ever has.
